Easy management

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean.

New Beginnings: Venus In Fleurs

I started a different blog. "Dollyish" is something I used across the internets for a long time, but I felt the need to come up with something new as I enter a different chapter of my life. For my new blog, please visit http://venusinfleurs.com

Britney & Rihanna - S&M

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge Britney fan. I think she speaks for a generation and is more of a "Modern day Madonna" than Lady Gaga will ever be. That being said, when I heard about this collaboration of S&M with Rihanna, I really didn't know what to expect. I am not a fan of Rihanna's music, almost at all.. but regardless, I had a listen to the song and can't say I was impressed. Heres the collaboration:

In general, I found the original version of the song boring, repetitive, and lacking. I'm tired of Rihanna over playing that shes a bad girl. Honestly, am I the only person who feels like she already beat that horse to death with her last 2 albums? Anyways, if you haven't already gathered, I didnt like the first version of S&M. So then I listened to the second version featuring an additional verse by Britney Spears. Again, not impressed. I like hearing remixes of songs because they usually present a different perspective on something familiar.. but this one really did nothing for me. The song was basically kept completely intact, and a Britney Spears verse was dropped right in the middle of the song. I'll be the first to admit that Britney Spears vocals aren't stellar, but I don't think thats why she is appealing to me. Getting back on track, remixes are supposed to present something old in a new light, and this "remix" didn't even come close to doing that. The only thing I enjoyed about this remix was that it was shorter than the original, and featured less vocals by Rihanna. But really.. Whats the point in remixing a song and keeping it almost exactly the same? Oh.. right.. There really isn't a point. Bloops.

In situations like these, I don't know whats worse - Creating another whiny vocal filled, "I'm such a bad girl", boring pop song by Rihanna.. Or having to hear it on the radio for another 6 extra months because it was remixed with Britney. Thank goodness for Toronto's Boom 97.3 I may never have to hear this steamy pile ever again. Gotta love the 80s.

New hair time

This post was supposed to be out yesterday, except that my iPhone decided not to post it for some reason. Ah well, here it is

My hair has been grown out for about 6 months now and I think it's time for a new style and color. What I've been wanting lately is a lighter red or Ginger/copper color, and a more defined fringe.
Here's some pictures I'm thinking of for the color, the style I'm still pretty unsure about still so I'll leave that out for now.

The first picture has a nice fringe also, but anyways.. I like how light it is. Hopefully it suits me!

Lady Gaga in Jeans?

What a bizarre sight. Sometimes you forget that celebrities like Lady Gaga are actually real people, and wear jeans and yoga pants like the rest of us. Sweet boots, but I cant say im a fan of mom jeans.. despite my love for Mother Monster.

Seriously...FML

So last night was eventful in the sense that I found out my computer is broken. Awesome. So guess what im doing today? Laptop shopping! Yayyyyy....

Well, this WOULD totally deserve a long, drawn-out "Yayyyyyy" except that im totally broke. Yep. My bank account has about three dollars in it, and the only thing in my pocket is my phone and a hard candy mint that I got for free from the bank the other day (you know, checking my balance.. letting it sink in that I am broke as fuck).

Anyways, to make the best of the situation I have brought my camera to work today and plan on actually figuring out how it works a bit better. Hopefully I can mask my frustration by getting some good pictures of Toronto while I am miserably window shopping for a new laptop. Yes yes, my plan is awesome, and it will probably turn into quite the awesome adventure.. because everything is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!

ps. I am planning a cupcake tour of Toronto based on a post I found from blogTO. I will go to these places, and eat cupcakes, take pictures and be merry.. and blog about it.. of course! ;)

Hexa by Kuho

I came across these shoes in V Magazine - V70, and let me just say that I absolutely love them. I love shoes, they are probably my favourite piece of clothing, and these babies are any shoe junkies dream. They are quite round in shape, but at the same time have an architectural feel due to the sharp lines and straps. I like the way the heel extends out backwards and the support under the toe is missing, its an interesting spin on a relatively classic wedge heel. Ive seen this type of rounded wedge heel pretty often this spring, which is great because I love them.
Have a look..
